Join the Anacostia Watershed Society and Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission for the 9th Annual Anacostia River BioBlitz!
Throughout the day, we will have local experts lead guided hikes to look for species while also hosting a number of organizations who will be providing information on their programs and local flora and fauna.
Some highlights include:
- Maryland DNR FishMobile
- Kayaking along the lake
- Guided fungi, insect, bird, plant, and reptile and amphibian hikes
The public BioBlitz event will run on Saturday September 13th from 10:00-4:00 pm ET at Lake Artemesia Park. However, we hope folks will continue to make observations on iNaturalist during the full event which will occur from September 11-14th, 2025.
