The DC Department of Energy and Environment invites the public to join us for a free day of nature, art, and community on Kingman and Heritage Islands. The 6th Annual Kingman Island Friends and Family Day will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
As the District’s first state conservation area, the Islands offer a natural oasis to experience rare ecosystems in the heart of the city. Attendees can enjoy free activities lead by DOEE staff and nonprofit partners like paddling, motorized boat tours, guided nature walks, wildlife demonstrations, nature-themed arts and crafts, a clothing swap, and more.
