Come lend a hand and help save our forests! Aides will help protect native trees and restore habitat by removing invasive vines and shrubs, with a focus on English ivy (Hedera helix), an aggressive invasive species. We’ll also remove some invasive shrubs in the understory.
All tools and training provided! Aides are encouraged to bring their own gloves, hand pruners, loppers, or small folding saws if available—extras will be provided for those who need them.
Please wear long pants, long sleeves, tall socks, and closed-toed shoes, and bring water to stay hydrated. Power tools and machetes are not permitted.
This volunteer opportunity is approved for Prince George’s County Public Schools student service learning hours.
