The National Aquarium (Baltimore, MD) invites you to hands-on stabilize dune structure at Naval Air Station Oceana (NASO), Dam Neck Annex (DNA) (VA Beach, VA) by planting native grasses and shrubs along the Atlantic Coast.  No experience needed and all tools are provided.  This is an ongoing partnership with the Department of Navy and information is needed to gain access to the planting site located on base.  We ask that all interested participants pre-register to receive further details. All participants must be a minimum of 10 years of age and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.


WHO: The National Aquarium in partnership with the Department of Navy

WHAT: Volunteers are needed to plant 30,000 native grasses/shrubs along the Atlantic Coast at NASO DNA.  Native vegetation helps stabilize dune structure to protect base operations.

WHEN: Friday, May 21 – Monday, May 24. Participants are welcome to participate in one or several days.
