Inspiring Young Environmental Stewards – with your help!
Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in Grasonville, MD is hosting a training date for new volunteers interested in helping with our education programs – Friday April 5th from 10-3pm.

Each year we host over 6,000 students on property for hands-on, feet-wet environmental education programs designed to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.  We rely on volunteers to lead or assist staff with lessons during these field trips.

We could not accommodate this many students without volunteer support.  Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and are of all ages, 18-85 years old!  No teaching background is needed.
All you need to volunteer is:
  • A desire to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards
  • Some free time during the week – we have programs every weekday, except (most) Mondays.  Programs are usually 4-5 hours long.  Some volunteers work 1 day a month, while others work 3-4 times a week!  We have an online calendar for volunteers to view and sign up for easy scheduling!

Interested?  Contact Katey Nelson, Education Coordinator to register for training on April 5th or to schedule a date to shadow a program.  Email Katey at knelson@bayrestoration.org
