These recycling events are free of charge and open to Montgomery County residents only. Please, no businesses. Event may be canceled due to severe/inclement weather.

Limit: 5 paper bags or small cardboard boxes of paper per household/vehicle. All paper will be shredded on-site. These are drive-through events, and we ask you to stay in your vehicle. For everyone’s safety, you will not be able to watch your paper being shredded.

All events run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No cars will be permitted to enter the parking lot of the school after 2:00 p.m. The County reserves the right to close the event before 2:00 p.m. if the mobile shredding trucks become filled to capacity.

Acceptable types of paper for shredding include:

  • All types of paper such as financial and legal documents, receipts, and tax and medical records
  • Papers with staples or paper clips (please remove binder clips and rubber bands)
  • Envelopes with plastic windows

Unacceptable items for shredding include:

  • Paper in 3-ring binders and spiral notebooks (please remove binders and spiral bindings)
  • No file folders with metal fasteners and no hanging file folders (all paper must be removed from these types of folders)
  • Plastic items such as credit cards or plastic bags
  • Electronic items such as CDs or computer disks
