Ready to take action against invasive plants in Prince George’s County—on your own schedule? Become a Certified Weed Warrior!

Certified Weed Warriors are trained volunteers authorized to remove invasive species on parkland managed by the M-NCPPC Department of Parks and Recreation—no supervision required. New volunteers begin at Level 1, focusing on safely identifying and controlling the six highest-priority invasive vines impacting our parks.

The Weed Warrior Online Training is your first step toward certification. This required two-hour session covers why invasive species matter, how the program works, and how to identify and manage priority invasive vines so you can start making a real impact right away. To continue the certification process, you will be required to participate in at least two in-person invasive plant removal sessions and a final certification course.

If you are ready to take the first step, please join us for our next online training on Thursday, April 18 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Volunteers must be aged 18 or older to participate in the certification program.
