The National Marine Educators Association 2026 Annual Conference concludes with field trips on July 16th. There are several spots available for some of the field trips that we are opening to non-conference attendees to join. You don’t have to be an educator to join the field trip.

Explore Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge to learn about the Eastern Shore’s marshland ecosystem, wildlife, and seasonal changes. Spot bald eagle nests, herons hunting, turtles basking, songbirds fluttering in the meadows, and more while learning about natural and cultural history of Dorchester County, Maryland.

Accessibility: This field trip includes walking through two visitor centers as well as a guided walk on a wildlife trail in the refuge with uneven ground up to 3 miles.
