Maryland DNR and the Nature Conservancy have teamed up to host a training on planning and implementing beneficial use projects.
Learning Objectives:
- Increase participant understanding of dredging and beneficial use (BU) fundamentals.
- Demonstrate real-world BU project implementation through field visits and case studies.
- Highlight the ecological and economic co-benefits of BU.
- Equip local planners with knowledge of permitting pathways, regulatory requirements, and
funding opportunities. - Foster collaboration to promote regional-scale sediment management planning.
- Provide practical tools and resources to support future BU projects.
Audience: The primary audience for this training is county and local planners interested in planning for and implementing beneficial use projectings. This training may also be useful for community organizations interested in beneficial use.
