Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management are hosting a training for coastal managers and planners to plan and implement green (natural) infrastructure projects to reduce natural coastal hazards in their community.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe how green or natural infrastructure contributes to reducing the impacts of hazards and building resilience.
- Analyze factors for consideration when choosing and planning green or natural infrastructure projects, including hazard reduction benefits, co-benefits, design, maintenance, and cost.
- Identify and assess approaches for successful implementation, including planning, funding, partners, and stakeholder engagement.
- Identify local green or natural infrastructure projects and connect with local experts who can provide additional information and guidance.
