The Chesapeake Oyster Alliance (COA) with support from Chesapeake Bay Foundation invites oyster practitioners of all types—early career professionals, graduate students, researchers, restoration experts, growers and watermen—to convene at the third annual Chesapeake Oyster Science Symposium. The Symposium will be focused on emerging science and innovative approaches to advance the oyster population of Chesapeake Bay, but we welcome attendees from all locations (e.g., the East, Gulf, and West Coasts—and other countries around the world).

COA is assembling an all-star lineup of oyster experts, post-docs, faculty, and industry practitioners. Multiple panel discussions featuring more than 20 speakers are intended to offer succinct presentations and ample Q&A around each topic. The Symposium will also feature a round of lightning-talks by young scientists and early career professionals (attendees may self-select to present when they register) and frequent breaks to combat the dreaded “Zoom fatigue.”

Event Fee:
The online option for this event is FREE, however, if you are not an official Chesapeake Oyster Alliance Partner, we would happily accept donations to support COA’s oyster work. All contributors will receive special materials from the program, including full slide decks and recordings of the event.
