Rodents comprise the largest order of mammals worldwide, but what exactly makes a rodent a rodent? Learn about the basics of rodent biology and explore the world of rodents, particularly those found in Maryland. From the industrious beaver to the tiny jumping mouse, rodents are diverse and important components of the ecosystem.

Speaker Kerry Wixted is a Maryland naturalist with over 15 years experience studying flora and fauna of Maryland. She has previously worked for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and has taught classes for Audubon’s Natural History Field Studies Program.
