Maryland Trout Unlimited’s October 16 chapter meeting will feature Theo Pike, a British author whose publications include ‘Trout in Dirty Places’ (a trailblazing guide to the UK’s urban fishing and river restoration movements) and ‘The Pocket Guide to Balsam Bashing’ (a handbook empowering people to tackle invasive non-native species).

As Chair of Trustees of the South East Rivers Trust, Theo has helped to lead the restoration of the historic River Wandle in south London, over nearly 20 years, which has also sparked enthusiasm for improving urban rivers across the rest of the UK.

He’s now working with the Wild Trout Trust as Trout in the Town Officer for the south of England and Wales, and has just launched the Trust’s newest publication, the ‘Trout in the Town Urban River Toolkit’. Theo’s own websites can be found at theopike.com and urbantrout.net

Join us to meet Theo, learn about his restoration work in England and discuss similar challenges and opportunities on our own local urban streams. Free and open to the public; all are welcome!

Presented in partnership with Friends of Stony Run
