We are excited to announce that registration and registration scholarship applications are officially open for Student Day at NMEA 2026! Hosted by the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA), this year’s conference theme is “Meeting of the Waters.” Student Day is a dedicated, one-day program designed for students (ages 13+) to connect with marine science professionals, share their own research, and explore careers in ocean conservation.
Ways to Participate
There are two ways for students to join us in 2026:
- In-Person Student Day at NMEA
- When: July 14, 2026, 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Where: Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, Cambridge, Maryland
- Cost: $70 (Includes NMEA membership)
- Scholarships: Available to cover $50 of the registration fee.
- Virtual Participation
- With Asynchronous Presentation: $25 (Includes NMEA membership and full access to the Whova conference app).
- Scholarships: Available to cover $15 of the registration fee.
- No Presentation: $10 (Includes full access to the Whova conference app).
- Note: Scholarships are not available for this option.

Scholarship Information

- Deadline: Scholarship applications are being accepted through June 1, 2026.
- Notification: Recipients will be notified by June 8, 2026.
- Please Note: Scholarship funds are limited. Application for scholarship funds does not guarantee receipt of funds.
