Urban Wilderness in the Greater Baltimore Region: From Seed Corn to Harvest

Join the Baltimore Washington Partners for Forest Stewardship to hear from national leaders in Urban Wilderness planning who will share examples drawn from diverse groups of private and public partners in metropolitan areas striving to preserve, connect, and restore parks, rivers, and green spaces for the benefit of communities and wildlife. Learn how these lessons are being applied to the newly formed Greater Baltimore Wilderness Coalition. We are pleased to host these esteemed keynote speakers:

Mr. Arnold Randall, General Superintendent of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Illinois and President of the Chicago Wilderness.
The Chicago Wilderness is a regional alliance that connects people and nature. It is considered the nation premier example of the urban wilderness concept. Mr. Randall will speak to us about creating an urban wilderness: what it is, why do it and who is doing it.

Dr. Mamie Parker, President, MA Parker and Associates, and former Assistant Director of Fisheries and Habitat Conservation at the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Dr. Parker helps organizations achieve their vision and stay positive about the future. She is well known as an outstanding motivational speaker and is currently a board member of the Chesapeake Conservancy, inspiring youth to embrace the Chesapeake. Dr. Parker will share her view of the benefits of an urban wilderness concept.
