USBI Biochar 2018 will be held in Wilmington Delaware with proximity to the Delaware River and Bay, Chesapeake Bay, Hudson Rivers, and Long Island Sounds watershed that together drain over 107,000 square miles providing critically important environmental and economic commerce, food, and natural resources for more than 45 million people. Major financial investments are being made to restore the watersheds from decades of anthropogenic impacts by industrialization, development, and agriculture.

The conference theme: “The Carbon Link in Watershed Ecosystem Services” will provide technical topics to accommodate a variety of professional interests, including: Remediation and Restoration; Agriculture, Forestry and Soils; Urban Landscapes; Water, Wastewater & Biosolids; Commercialization, Production & Distribution; Regulatory Policy, Innovative Financing & Watershed Resiliency & Adaptation.

Biochar 2018 is the largest event in North America dedicated to advancing the sustainable production and use of biochar through scientific and engineering research, policy development, field practice, and technology transfer.  Biochar 2018 current lineup of guest speakers, pre-conference workshops, networking, field-trips and social events.

Keynote Speaker – Dr. David R. Montgomery, professor of geomorphology at the University of Washington, Speaker of over 200 scientific papers, 5 books and featured in documentary films including Dirt Rich. Dr. Montgomery’s recently published his newest book Growing a Revolution: Bringing our soils back to life (2017).

We are offing pre-conference workshops to both attendees and non-attendees on August 20th.  Full conference and day passes.  Workshops, Conference and Field Trips are all PDU/CEU credited through the University of Delaware.  We look forward to seeing you there.
