This training will help property managers, salt applicators, business owners, municipalities, and MCPS Facilities Crews who apply salt in Montgomery County, Maryland improve salt application effectiveness & reduce chloride pollution while keeping roads, parking lots, and sidewalks safe. Participating organizations have been able to reduce their salt use by 30 to 70% – helping to prevent damage to our infrastructure and threats to our drinking water and local freshwater ecosystems.

This course is offered virtually or in-person. With virtual attendance, there are limited log-ins available. However, there is the option to attend in-person at 707 Conservation Lane, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 for individuals and groups without computer access.
*Submitting this form does NOT mean that you have been enrolled in the October 2026 applicator training. However, you must complete this form to be considered for one of the limited spots in the course.
