Watershed restoration takes a village. By empowering community members to become stewards of their local waterways, local governments can build momentum for future restoration projects with the ideas and support of its residents. They can also build momentum for their programs by using new tools to help target stewardship behaviors and audiences for their education and outreach programs.

In this webinar, we will first hear from another 2021 BUBBAs winner: Anne Arundel County and the AACo Watershed Stewards Academy. Through this partnership, AACo established a powerful education and outreach program designed to train community members on watershed restoration approaches with the goal of affecting long term behavior change and on-the-ground implementation to protect local streams. Then, we will hear about a new tool that will soon be available from the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Citizen Stewardship Workgroup that uses Bay-wide citizen survey data to help stormwater managers better understand how to target their stewardship programs!
