Join us once a month for a youth exploration in crafting with seasonal materials found in nature. Youth will learn to make art, instruments, edible and medicinal preparations all while learning how to ID, harvest, steward and protect plant species. Each month will delve into the bounty of the season encouraging youth to experience nature as a continuous, wonderous cycle.

Fox Haven is thrilled to be hosting two amazing wilderness instructors. Elizabeth Remmers brings her love of chemistry, physics and the interconnectedness of nature to this series of classes to inspire playfulness and scientific inquiry. Chris Ousse brings his years of plant identification and wilderness survival skills as well as his interest in plant medicines and natural instrument materials to teach a holistic and multi-dimensional view of nature.

Each 4 hour class will include a nature walk to ID and harvest plants, time for a picnic lunch, and a led experience in processing and using the collected plants. Please prepare youth with forest-appropriate and weather-appropriate clothing, a bagged lunch and a waterbottle.
