Adkins Arboretum seeks a Youth Program Coordinator to oversee and provide instruction for school field trips, summer camp, preschool, homeschool, and forest school programs. A 400-acre native garden and preserve, the Arboretum provides exceptional experiences in nature to promote environmental stewardship. Programs are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and provide “feet wet, hands dirty” opportunities for students in grades pre-k through 12 to explore the Arboretum’s wetland, meadow, forest, and stream habitats.

The School Group Coordinator is a year-round contract position with December off. The pay rate is $25/hour. Hours will average 25hrs/week with some seasonal fluctuation. During the busy fall and spring field trip season and during the late June–July summer camp season, the coordinator can expect to be on-site Monday–Friday. The approximate annual salary is $30,000.

Applicants must have a background in teaching and the environment, a love of the outdoors, good organization, strong public speaking skills, lots of energy, and the ability to interact well with students, teachers, parents, and volunteers. Click here for a full description.
