The Agricultural Programs Manager Role

Farms are a critical part of Lancaster County’s ecosystems and economy. RegenAll is seeking an energetic, organized Agricultural Programs Manager to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities by turning climate resilience planning into tangible local action. This role moves beyond high-level strategy to focus on active, hands-on program coordination. The Manager will build deep relationships with regenerative farmers, manage community volunteers, and run educational outings that connect Lancaster County residents directly to sustainable local agriculture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the food security component of the regional Climate Resilience Plan and coordinate discussions with agricultural partners regarding climate impacts like flooding, soil loss, and heat stress. Will support the maintainance of the workstream’s working plan and progress tracking alongside the Lancaster Sustainability Coordinator.
  • Maintain, update, and complete the countywide ArcGIS map of regenerative farms and community gardens in Lancaster County.
  • Design, coordinate, and execute three seasonal educational field trips (focused on topics like solar grazing, regenerative livestock, and tree crops) as revenue-generating public events that connect residents directly with local agriculture.
  • Identify and manage at least three farmer-driven, hands-on volunteer projects per year (e.g., tree planting, agroforestry, habitat restoration) to provide direct support to the local food system.
  • Work closely with the Events and Development Coordinator to align community outreach priorities with organization-led public events (including the Climate Summit, Carbon Neutral Coffee, and Green Drinks).
  • Identify and scope priority workstream projects alongside partners and the Executive Director; assist in preparing relevant grant proposals, cost-share opportunities, and partner agreements to secure funding.
  • Represent the organization at the annual Climate Summit, public forums, and relevant regional events.
  • Partner with the Director of Communications to regularly feed program updates, impact stories, and educational content into RegenAll’s newsletters, blog, and social media platforms.
  • Engage in regular Core Team meetings and strategic planning sessions to align on organizational goals
  • Partner directly with the Executive Director on additional strategic initiatives, organizational development, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • A practical background in regenerative agriculture practices (e.g., soil health, rotational grazing, cover cropping) and climate resilience.
  • Experience tracking program budgets, managing event costs, and identifying revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Familiarity with regional food security policy and local conservation or agricultural governance bodies.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse agricultural communities across Lancaster County (with potential future expansion into York County).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate outdoor event logistics, volunteer field days, and site safety protocols.
  • The ability to drive projects forward independently within defined parameters, while staying highly aligned with overall organizational goals.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with an eye for detail.
  • Quality written and verbal communication skills for nonprofit correspondence and outreach.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely within established timeframes while providing and incorporating strategic input and constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, project management software (Monday.com); along with the requirement to utilize your own personal computer and secure, high-speed internet access for daily remote work.
  • Ability to interact with and foster positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Morning, evening, and weekend work is occasionally required
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to travel across Lancaster County (and surrounding areas as needed), and the physical ability to transport event supplies (and occasionally work outdoors).
