The Corporate, Donor, and Volunteer Relations Coordinator carries out development strategies including outreach, solicitation, cultivation, networking, follow up and stewardship of potential and existing corporate sponsors (30%), oversees donor cultivation through friend and fundraising events (30%), coordinates volunteers and volunteer activities in support of the Alice Ferguson Foundation (30%), and supports general relationship-based fundraising activities of the development team (10%).

Primary Role(s):

  • In partnership with AFF President/CEO and Director of Institutional Development (DID), cultivate corporate relationships through in-person meetings, facility tours, and general communication activities
  • Maintain a relationship management process for corporate activity and track all interactions of AFF President/CEO and others within the organization
  • Research to discover potential corporate sponsors and donors and how best to engage them, including corporate matching gift program, to ensure that employee gifts are matched by supporting employers
  • Collaborate with DID on development of corporate giving goals and objectives including expanding of fundraising networks and developing new corporate relationships through speaking engagement or targeted community involvement
  • Personally, manage the relationships and solicitation process for select corporate prospects
  • Plan, implement, and track fulfillment of corporate expectations (tickets, facility use, etc.), including tracking corporate invoices and pledges.
  • Manage the planning, implementation, and execution of donor cultivation (friendraising) events, as well as annual fundraising events (Pinot on the Potomac) with support from other members of the development team.
  • Event management to include development of event goals, budget, and planning schedule, solicitation/tracking of sponsors, working with Communications and Marketing Manager on production and scheduling of marketing and promotional materials, tracking invitations and RSVP’s, coordination with volunteers and event vendors, day of event management including VIP identification and strategy, and post event follow up with donors, attendees, and vendors.
  • In partnership with DID, develop new volunteer program to match volunteer opportunities to AFF needs. This includes working with staff to develop a list of activities, projects and events appropriate for volunteers; recruiting, orientating, and matching volunteers to these needs; providing ongoing support and guidance of volunteers; and developing volunteer communication and tracking systems (such as Volgistics), to schedule and engage with volunteers.
  • Secondary role(s):
    • Supports general development team activities – such as mid-year and annual appeal, and membership drives
    • Provide support to the capital campaign
    • Support program staff as they ensure fiscal sustainability of programming and project accounting to demonstrate appropriate use of donor funds
    • Support the Foundation’s public outreach and marketing efforts as needed, especially as related to events, including workplace giving events and presentations to prospective funders
    • Support educational programs, events, and demonstrations as needed
    • Build the Foundation’s visibility through participation at conferences and meetings, development of training workshops, and networking with colleagues
    • Participate in staff development, including staff meetings and trainings
    • Work closely with and provide development support to the DID, as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned
