Please share with your networks! Interested candidates should apply now to start in December or January. Interested candidates should apply through the Americorps links, but are encouraged to reach out directly to our Community Engagement Coordinator, Alayna Smith (asmith@rockcreekconservancy.org) with a resume to express interest.

Via the AmeriCorps VISTA program, the Conservancy will have 2 PAID internship opportunities for college graduates next year:
Please share these opportunities with your networks, neighbors, alumni networks, and more. We’d love to find local candidates with college degrees (a VISTA requirement) who can hit the ground running helping us advance the Conservancy’s people-powered restoration with a strong emphasis on inclusion.
The stewardship/volunteer associate will lead service events on the weekend, maintaining and coordinating work in the oases, and supporting Rock Creek Conservation Corps. This is a great opportunity for an emerging conservation professional interested in working outdoors a significant amount of the time and who enjoys managing people. This VISTA will be expected to be in the park regularly for work, so should have access to appropriate transportation (costs are reimbursed).
The community engagement associate will, in partnership with RCC staff and NPS colleagues, undertake research about the intersection of race, history, and Rock Creek. They will also help strengthen our outreach, including implementing some emerging partnerships with schools east of the park. This is a great opportunity for an emerging historian, environmental justice advocate, or other social scientist with a passion for archival research and public speaking.
Both positions are virtual until the Conservancy’s offices reopen fully, though the volunteer associate will have plenty of field work to keep busy. Local candidates are strongly encouraged.
