The Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Associate Engineer to join the Technical and Environmental Services Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in design and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure in accordance with NPDES, TMDL, and stormwater management regulations and requirements. Primary responsibilities will include reviewing designs for existing and future stormwater and stream restoration projects and identifying retrofit and maintenance opportunities for a variety of projects located throughout the State of Maryland. Responsibilities may include delineating drainage areas, developing stormwater treatment computations, modeling H&H analyses, preparing cost estimates, creating maps or plans in GIS or CAD, and preparing work orders for remediation/construction tasks.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Geotechnical, or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus three years of related engineering experience. EIT certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience or a Master’s Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience. Experience with GIS software, geodatabases, modeling software, surveying, and/or CAD programs preferred.
