The Horn Point Laboratory of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science seeks a person to support their Development/Outreach, Education and IT Services by; designing and producing program brochures, newsletters, websites and other electronic media; support remote teaching programs through management of our video classrooms; support faculty and student research programs by the creation of poster, videos and electronic communications; provide supporting materials for development and public outreach programs; and assist in basic computer support for research and administrative staff.

Bachelors degree required, preferably in communications/environmental science. Substantial experience required in communications, preferably scientific. Demonstrated ability to work in an institution of higher education and to be able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences preferred. Through knowledge of proper punctuation and grammar, editing principles, and practices, and Associated Press style. Able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Demonstrated ability in computer word processing, graphics manipulation, and page layout, spreadsheet and database use, and desk-top publishing techniques. Experience using the Internet and creating technical and nested pages for Web display.
