Rate of Pay: $42,270 – Annual

Job Summary:

Plans, selects, oversees and manages conservation practices on County-owned land. Performs/oversees tasks designed to eliminate or control designated weeds from public and private property

Education/Experience:

Associate’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of courses and experience in conservation and parkland management or related subjects; six or more years of progressively responsible experience in noxious weed management, horticulture, forestry, agriculture and nutrient management.  Three or more years of experience working with State and Federal agricultural and conservation-based agencies (DNR, riverkeeper associations and Soil Conservation etc.).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess a Class C Maryland Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or have the ability to obtain such a license within thirty days of appointment to position.  Must possess Maryland Department of Agriculture required pesticide and herbicide licenses.  Additional licenses or certifications may be required. Must be licensed for noxious/invasive spray application by the State of Maryland.  May be required to obtain relevant fertilizer certifications.
