Stream Link Education (SLE) is seeking a motivated, environmentally minded person to help expand our native-tree planting and watershed restoration work in Frederick County, Maryland.

For more than 20 years, Stream Link Education has worked with communities, landowners, schools, businesses, and volunteers to restore local streams and improve the Chesapeake Bay watershed. We have planted more than 50,000 trees and shrubs and engaged thousands of volunteers in hands-on conservation projects.

We are looking for someone who can help us take the next step.

There are three primary areas of responsibility:

Grant Development: Identify potential grants and funding opportunities and help develop grant proposals and applications.

Project/Site Development: Help identify and develop new locations where Stream Link Education can plant native trees and shrubs and create meaningful conservation projects.

Volunteer & Community Outreach: Help recruit, organize, and communicate with volunteers, schools, businesses, community groups, and other potential partners.

The ideal person will be someone who enjoys connecting people with environmental opportunities and can see possibilities for turning good conservation ideas into real projects.

We are looking for someone who is:

Passionate about conservation, trees, streams, and the Chesapeake Bay watershed

A strong writer and communicator

Organized and able to work independently

Comfortable researching grants, organizations, potential project sites, and community partners

Good at building relationships and engaging volunteers

Experienced in grant writing, nonprofit development, environmental work, community outreach, or a related field — although motivated candidates with transferable experience are encouraged to apply. The position can be structured around the strengths and availability of the person selected. Some work can be done remotely, with occasional in-person meetings, site visits, and volunteer activities.
