About: Howard EcoWorks is an environmental nonprofit based in Howard County, Maryland. We are addressing climate issues with environmental restoration, while providing career opportunities in the green industry. We are currently accepting applications for a Conservation Project Manager to oversee conservation projects from planning through completion and support the growth of Howard EcoWorks’ restoration work. 

Summary of Job Description: The Conservation Project Manager is a key member of Howard EcoWorks’ Operations team, leading conservation projects from initial planning through completion while ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard. This role develops project proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets; serves as a primary point of contact for landowners, HOAs, agencies, and community partners; and directly supervises conservation field staff. The position combines project management, field leadership, community engagement, and ecological restoration, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced conservation or ecological-landscaping professional who enjoys both planning projects and seeing restoration work come to life in the field.

  • Employment: Full-time, exempt
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
  • Salary: $52,000–$56,000/year, commensurate with experience
  • Core hours: 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, Monday–Friday
  • Work model: Combination of office-based project management and outdoor fieldwork
  • Travel: Regular travel to project sites; valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required
  • Additional schedule: Occasional evenings and weekends for projects, partner needs, and community events
