Organizational Overview: Earth Force is a national organization dedicated to expanding the engagement of young people in civic decision making to address environmental concerns. Members of the team pride themselves on our commitment to the mission and ability to meet challenges head on. Earth Force strives to create a workspace that is reflective, creative, responsive and collaborative. Successful team members are those who set high standards for themselves, are comfortable with both giving and receiving feedback, and are willing to support other team members. Our organization thrives on robust internal communication where successful team members are comfortable proactively engaging colleagues working virtually across the country.

Position Description: The Communications Manager is responsible for all external communications and will work directly with the Program and Development teams to ensure consistency, clarity, and visibility of Earth Force messaging and communications including but not limited to websites, newsletters, social media, brochures, marketing materials, and webinars. The Communications Manager will also serve as a liaison with partners regarding their media and communications efforts. Because we are a virtual organization, team members must have access to a comfortable (and efficient) workspace in their home/community. In addition to external communications, the Communications Manager will oversee the logistics of event planning, including Youth Summits and Summer Workshops. Youth Summits are spring culminating events for our programs. They have anywhere between 60-300 people and will likely be in-person or hybrid. Summer Workshops serve up to 25-30 educators and/or partner organizations. We are currently unsure if these will return to in-person opportunities next year.
