About: Howard EcoWorks is an environmental nonprofit based in Howard County, Maryland. EcoWorks is addressing climate issues through environmental restoration, while providing career opportunities in the green industry. EcoWorks is currently accepting applications for our 2025 summer internship program, EcoAmbassadors.
About the Program: The EcoAmbassadors program is a paid summer internship geared towards high school students interested in environmental stewardship. Participants work with their local communities to address environmental concerns by implementing projects to promote sustainable change in Howard County. The program will give participants an opportunity to gain expertise in a variety of environmental topics, to engage with environmentally focused youth across the county, and to develop skills such as public speaking, community outreach, and project management.
Program Eligibility: This program is open to students attending a High School (public or private) in Howard County. Must be ages 16 – 18 and can be a graduate of 2025.

Start Date: June 23, 2025
End Date: August 15, 2025

Pay + Benefits:
$650 stipend upon completing all milestones
Opportunity to design and implement a project with a budget of ~$500
