Glen Echo Park Aquarium (GEPA) in historic Glen Echo Park is seeking to fill two Education Specialist positions!
GEPA is a small Chesapeake Bay learning center focused on raising awareness about our nations largest estuary and all the critical ecosystems that exist within it. Through our room of animal ambassadors, we try to make connections between visitors and the impact they have on the world around them.

Primary responsibilities include educating and engaging visitors by pointing out our animals, interpreting various artifacts, assisting with animal care (i.e. feedings), birthday party tours, light cleaning and other small tasks. Overall we are looking for outgoing educators that can act as a tour guide highlighting the various local wildlife we have in our aquarium!

The position is seasonal (full time in the summer) with possible part time extension in the fall. Hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend day potential.

Qualifications include experience working with kids in either formal or informal settings, basic knowledge of Maryland wildlife and the Chesapeake Bay area and a positive attitude!

Open until position is filled – reviews begin on June 5th. Please email andrew@gepaquarium.org and cc. lauren_richards@my.uri.edu with your resume, short cover letter and contact information.
