For 50 years Clean Water Action has succeeded in winning some of the nation’s most important environmental protections. Now, Clean Water Action is currently accepting applications for our Winter/Spring 2023 internship program.

Our internship provides passionate and fueled advocates with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civic engagement, communications, and politics.

Candidates who possess a strong commitment to environmental, social, and political justice, a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor will be well suited for this role. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply!

Our Environmental Advocate Intern will learn:

  • What is Civic Engagement & why it is so important. 
  • Canvass Communication & how identify members who passionate in reform.
  • How to raise funds to support research, lobbying, and educational campaigns.
  • Learn the importance of environmental damages and how to enforce environmental law.
  • What it is like to promote clean, renewable energy and combat climate change.
  • Advance action on progressive issues to influence national, state, and local decision-makers.

Requirements:

  • Must be in commutable distance or relationships to the Baltimore, Maryland Area.
  • Shifts are from 1:30pm-9pm, Weekdays.
    • Must be available at 3 shifts a week. You pick the 3 days.
  • Must be able to provide COVID vaccination documentation.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must be committed to the cause of diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion.
  • Experience with canvassing and political organizing is a big plus!
