This position is located in the Division of Hydropower Administration and Compliance in the Office of Energy Projects.
As an Environmental Engineer, some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Performing environmental compliance activities related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of FERC jurisdictional hydropower facilities including determining the adequacy of the data supplied, analyzing and assessing the potential effects on engineering and environmental resources, and determining compliance with the Commission’s rules, policies, and other laws such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Clean Water Act.
- Preparing compliance, NEPA, and other environmental related documents focusing on compliance activities related to the construction, operation, and maintenance of hydropower facilities.
- Communicating with the hydropower industry, federal and state agency representatives, and other affected stakeholders.
