Coastal Resources, Inc. (www.coastal-resources.net), an ecological consulting firm located in Annapolis, MD, is currently accepting applications for a motivated seasonal/temporary environmental scientist on a flexible basis for 2-3 days a week from late September through December 2022, with potential for extension or conversion to full-time, permanent status.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in applied sciences such as ecology, botany, aquatic resources, or natural resource management.  Experience or course work with wetland delineation, plant identification, soil science, wildlife, aquatic ecology, or GIS is a plus. Candidates should also have excellent written and oral communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, and Excel.  The position will require a self-starter, with good organization skills who is willing to work outdoors in all conditions and spend time in a laboratory setting.  Tasks will vary depending on current projects, but will most likely include assisting with:

  • Field work related to wetland, forest, and stream assessments;
  • Lab sorting of macroinvertebrates;
  • GPS survey;
  • Data entry; and
  • Some administrative and clerical duties.

This opportunity is ideal for early career candidates seeking professional experience. Work is primarily in-person, and candidates must live locally.
