The Gleaning Project – a component of South Central Community Action Programs– is looking for two hardworking, passionate individuals to join our team. We are searching for 1) A full time, year-round Gleaning Coordinator in Adams County, PA and 2) A part time Gleaning Assistant in Franklin County, PA.

Each staff person will work closely with the gleaning supervisor for their respective county, as well as the many connected businesses, organizations, and individuals that are aligned with our mission to reduce hunger and improve nutrition for those who need it most.

Both positions entail communicating regularly with local donating growers, coordinating volunteers to harvest excess produce from fields and orchards, and managing the just-in-time distribution of that produce to a wide range of partners serving food insecure community members.

We’re looking for individuals who aspire to impact our local and regional food system in powerful, equitable, and enjoyable ways.  We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning and innovating to develop new solutions.  We’re looking for someone who is willing to work hard – on evenings and/or weekends as needed – to help make positive change happen in South Central Pennsylvania.
