Tree Maintenance Intern Wanted (part-time, unpaid) 2018
Energetic and physically healthy volunteer needed to assist in maintaining trees planted by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC), a non profit land trust and watershed organization located in Baltimore metropolitan area. Work will be done in within the Gunpowder Watershed area to assist in the GVC Reforestation Program. Hours are flexible and can include weekends.
Must be age 18+; must provide own transportation; and be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Essential qualities needed include:
Honest, hard worker; ability to take instruction and apply consistently; willing to work outside in an open field environment with high, flowering weeds; willing to work in the heat as well as cold temperatures; attention to detail; ability to work without direct supervision; and able to take initiative.
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 1 year college level course work; working towards degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, botany, or natural history.
Willing to commit 20 hours per season, for at least one season in 2018.
