Howard EcoWorks’ mission is to empower an under-served workforce to respect and restore our natural systems for future generations. We design, install and maintain small best management practices, primarily rain gardens and conservation landscapes, throughout Howard County, MD. These projects are installed through our workforce development programs, primarily Restoring the Environment and Developing Youth (READY), and utilize plants cared for at our native plant nursery located at the Howard County Department of Corrections. Our environmental goals focus on stormwater management, habitat restoration and watershed restoration.

EcoWorks is currently seeking both on-call contractual and part-time employment landscape design services.  We are interested in professional-level services, university and non-profit partnerships, as well as working with students in an apprentice role where they would have an opportunity to gain real-world applied experience and see their designs come to life.  We have focused work in the watershed draining to Historic Ellicott City and therefore offer an opportunity to be involved in an exciting, community-based effort to encourage best practices for the flood-prone town.

If you are interested in this opportunity or know someone that is, please share this notice and visit our web-site for more information.
