CityScape Engineering is seeking a Full-Time, Mid-Level, Civil/Water Resources Engineer to support our environmental restoration and green infrastructure projects in neighborhoods throughout Baltimore City, Maryland.  Applicants should have a passion for promoting innovative and equitable urban design solutions for community greening and revitalization.

CityScape Engineering, LLC is a water resources engineering company specializing in green infrastructure and environmental site design.  We believe connection to nature is essential to human well-being. We work to green the urban environmental and provide equitable access to natural landscapes through inspired engineering and design. Our design services include stormwater management design, drainage and grading design, erosion and sediment control, regulatory permitting assistance, and construction oversight.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design of Environmental Site Design (ESD), environmental restoration, and other green infrastructure and stormwater management projects per MDE, Baltimore City, or other local Maryland jurisdictional standards
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of storm flows
  • Prepare site grading, drainage, and erosion & sediment control plans to support restoration, re-development projects, and public park projects
  • Prepare drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD software
  • Facilitate the regulatory stormwater and erosion and sediment control plan review and permitting process
  • Estimate the quantities and cost of construction projects
  • Conduct occasional field work with other Team Members in and around Baltimore City to perform site evaluations to take field measurements
  • Attend community meetings and engage with diverse groups of City residents to develop project ideas. Occasional evening or weekend meetings may be required, with compensation

 Required Experience and Skills:

  • BS or MS in civil engineering or related engineering field (i.e. biological, agricultural)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of recent design experience in the A/E field
  • Knowledge of stormwater practice design, drainage area delineation, and practice sizing
  • Ability to perform site grading using existing topography and contour lines
  • Ability to complete and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models (Tr-55, Tr-20, HEC-RAS and/or similar)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD design software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent, focused and responsible work ethic
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines
  • Attentive to detail
  • Passion for working in diverse City neighborhoods to create better outdoor spaces and improve local water quality

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with MDE’s Stormwater Design Manual and Environmental Site Design practices
  • Familiarity with Erosion & Sediment Control Design
  • Knowledge of Baltimore City, County, or MDE plan review and permitting process
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training
  • Familiarity with GIS software
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
