This can either be one full-time position, or can be split into two part-time positions. This is a seasonal position and runs from April-October. Actual hours vary based on most active times of the season with the most hours in April/May/September for retail and April-August for watering.
FT option– 34 hrs/week Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Nursery retail, watering)
Monday,Tuesday (Retail Store) and back-up coverage days as needed.
PT option 1– average 20 hrs/week, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (Nursery) and back-up coverage as needed.
PT option 2– average 14 hours/week Monday-Tuesday (Retail Store) and back-up coverage as needed.
This position offers a salary range of $15-$17/ hour (dependent upon experience).
General Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Regularly waters nursery, client and backstock plants as well as containers and garden beds on site
- Weeds nursery, client and backstock areas in down time
- Keeps nursery and parking lot area clean and presentable
- Assists, directs and checks out customers in nursery, using square, as needed
- Supports our retail store, Cultivate, by way of customer assistance, checking customers out, using square, and light housekeeping, as needed
- Additional Cultivate tasks may include tagging and restocking products, indoor plant care such as watering plants
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of native plants, their preferred site conditions (required for Nursery)
- Basic gardening skills (required)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions (required)
- Drivers license (required)
