The West Virginia University (WVU) Institute of Water Security and Science (IWSS) is pleased to announce an opening for a PhD graduate research assistant (GRA) to be filled spring semester 2021. West Virginia University is the state’s flagship research-one institution, and is among the top universities in the nation, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.
A highly motivated GRA is sought that is committed to gaining experience investigating human dimensions of water as a team member in a developing drinking water testing and outreach program in the Appalachian region of the United States. The student will obtain experience facilitating workshops, conducting water quality testing, providing stakeholder outreach, and processing and analyzing data, and/or modeling; and developing a dissertation including peer reviewed articles.

Applicants must possess bachelors, and master’s degrees completed in a closely related field. Successful applicants will work collaboratively and independently, and must have a U.S. driver’s license and automobile. The GRA will include a competitive stipend, health insurance, and tuition waiver.
