READY (Restoring the Environment and Developing Youth) is a summer employment program for young adults ages 16-25 from Howard County offering positions as a Crew Leader, Assistant Crew Leader, or Crew Member. READY participants construct and maintain stormwater best management practices to help improve watershed health.
READY participants are trained in the design and installation of green stormwater practices such as rain gardens, conservation landscapes and more! They receive job skills training as well as learn about local and regional environmental issues. Participants also have the opportunity to receive the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional-Associate Training and a Certificate!
The READY Program will start Thursday June 24th and end on Friday August 13th*
*Please Note: Start dates are approximate and, due to the coronavirus, may be changed. The READY Leadership team starts leadership training on June 21.
READY participants must:
- be Howard County residents
- be between the ages of 16-25 years old as of June 21, 2021
- work outside performing moderate physical labor
- have a good attitude and care about the environment
