Assateague Outfitters, a for profit partnership between the Maryland Coastal Bays Program and SuperFun Eco tours is seeking summer staff for their Assateague Island National Seashore Park concession operations.
The concessions include Kayak/SUP/Canoe/Bicycle rentals, guided kayak tours in the coastal bays, 2 retail stores, and an umbrella/beach chair rental on the beach.
We are seeking versatile individuals who are willing to work with rentals outside and retail inside.
Duties include:
-Provide high quality customer service
-Facilitate rentals of kayaks, canoes, bikes and SUP’s.
-Provide safety and paddling instructions for guests
– Lead and/or Sweep wildlife kayak tours
-Identifying Flora and Fauna
-Retail responsibilities including stocking, running register, answering customers’ questions, cleaning, etc.
-Applicants must be able to carry out highly physically job duties like moving equipment and paddling a kayak several miles.
-Customer service duties include interacting with park guests and promoting stewardship through interpretation of the park’s natural and cultural resources.
-Applicants should have flexible availability from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend
-Must be available for preseason training, dates TBA, but will be held on a weekend in May.
