Stormwater Management, LLC (SML) is seeking an enthusiastic entry level or experienced inspector. SML is a local small business headquartered in Montgomery County performing inspections for municipalities and property managers/owners throughout the DMV. Our established staff continues to grow and expand with the need for inspectors to assess and document the condition of existing stormwater facilities. The position will involve field work including visual inspection, documentation, and office work on reporting the condition of existing stormwater management and drainage systems. Based in Burtonsville, Maryland, field work will be in Montgomery County and throughout the DMV. This position has long-term career growth and unlimited potential.
While not required, ideal candidates will have had exposure to or experience in one of the following:
- Reading of site plans and related drawings
- Drainage and/or stormwater management design
- Construction implementation and/or estimating
- Construction inspection or geotechnical testing
- Post-construction stormwater and BMP inspection
- CCTV pipeline inspection

This position does NOT require a college degree as long as you like to work both outside doing physical activities (75% of the time) and are comfortable behind a computer in an office for 25% of the time. Those with experience in BMP inspection can use this position to elevate their opportunities with an industry leader.
Position requires good communication skills (friendly, outgoing, courteous, etc), and the capability to work in both office and field environments. You will be mentored and coached. Basic computer skills and comfort level required. Must not have a fear of heights or confined spaces, be able to lift 75 pounds, and be able to learn to read site plans. An active driver’s license and a relatively clean driving record that is acceptable to our insurer is required.
