About the Position
The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Permitting & Code Compliance Inspector III to support the Stormwater Maintenance and Inspection Program. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in stormwater management, construction inspection, and code enforcement.
The position is responsible for inspecting and facilitating the maintenance of privately maintained stormwater Best Management Practices BMPs, reviewing contractor reports, conducting follow-up inspections, and ensuring compliance with Montgomery County Code and the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering, technical, or professional field and three (3) years of experience in a technical/professional field appropriate to the maintenance and construction of stormwater management BMPs of which one year must have been in a code compliance/enforcement capacity; or graduation from high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland and seven (7) years of experience in a technical/professional field appropriate to the maintenance and construction of stormwater management BMPs including ESD practices, of which one year must have been in a code compliance/enforcement capacity.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
License: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class “C” (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant’s state of residence when required for job-related duties.
