Our Team is comprised of over 40 talented professionals that are passionate about making a difference in our community and ultimately the world.  We are seeking a Sustainable Landscape Technician to join our team.

 

Summary

Essential duties include the installation of plants and seed, erosion and sedimentation control products, cutting and removal of invasive plants, selective herbicide application, and operation of power equipment. Outdoors work setting. Travel and overnight stay may be required.

Qualifications

  • Possess a positive attitude and willingness to work as a member of a team.
  • Tree, shrub, perennial planting; landscape or landscape maintenance; or environmental restoration experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plants and their identification a plus.
  • Experience operating landscaping equipment such as skid steer loader and tractor a plus.
  • Pennsylvania pesticide applicator certification or technician, or experience with pesticide application, a plus.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to operate small hand and power equipment such as string trimmers, engine drills, chainsaws, rake, shovel.
  • Valid driver’s license and experience pulling a loaded trailer a plus.
  • Be 18 years or older.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Invasive species control.
  • Installation and maintenance of trees, shrubs, herbaceous and wetland plants.
  • Miscellaneous landscape and construction duties including mulching, grading, etc.
  • Installation of erosion control products.
  • Operation of small power equipment and landscaping equipment if applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

  • $500 Sign on Bonus after 520 hours worked (approximately three months)
  • Wages (based on experience and training): $16/hr -$35/hr
    • Overtime opportunities at time and a half.
  • Prevailing wage opportunities – available on state & federal funded projects ($35/hr – $75/hr)
  • Landscape technicians average annual earnings between $34,000 – $50,000
    • Contingent upon the company’s annual workload, project funding and hours worked.
  • Benefits and paid time off may be available based on employment status.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works primarily in a natural, outdoors environment. The employee must be capable of enduring natural weather conditions such as rain, snow, cold, and heat that may last for more than several hours. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to high.
  • Use of PPE, or personal protection equipment, may be required depending on specific working conditions.
  • Travel, including overnight stays, may be required for some jobs. Overnight stays will typically not last longer than five (5) consecutive days.
