The Integrated Water Planning Program at MDE is seeking a dynamic professional with a strong background in statistics and desire to support the agency’s role in protecting and restoring State waters from Western Maryland to the Atlantic Coast.This position is integral to supporting numerous water quality programs within the State including the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) section, Non-point Source program, Water Quality Trading, Chesapeake Restoration, Stormwater permitting programs, Field Services, and the Winter Salt Reduction effort.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Design of water quality monitoring studies;
  • Analysis of water quality data to determine effectiveness of management action, detect trends and conduct water quality assessments;
  • Creation of schemas for water quality data reporting;
  • QA/QC of reported water quality data
