Writer-Communications Specialist
The International Joint Commission (IJC), U.S. Section is seeking the services of an experienced Writer-Communications Specialist to write science-based news articles for non-technical audiences and to assist the Public Information Officer in the IJC U.S. Section with carrying out a range of communication functions. Services would be provided under contract for approximately one year. The IJC serves as an independent and objective advisor to the governments of the United States of America and Canada under the 1909 Boundary Waters Treaty, and also carries out responsibilities assigned under the 2012 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement and other binational accords. The work involves water resources shared by Canada and the United States, but the work will be carried out in the Washington, DC office of the IJC.
