    Energy Efficiency and RGGI

The Maryland Climate Coalition and Climate Stewards of Greater Annapolis present their monthly speakers series on January 19.  The January topic is Energy Effiency and RGGI.
Please come learn about initiatives in Maryland to reduce CO2 emissions. David Smedick from the Sierra Club Maryland Chapter’s “Beyond Coal Campaign” and Deron Lovaas from the Natural Resources Defense Council will discuss the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), the EmPOWER Maryland program and energy conservation in Maryland. RGGI is a market-based program among nine Northeastern states to cap and reduce CO2 emissions from the power sector and sell emission allowances through auctions. Proceeds are invested in energy efficiency programs such as EmPOWER Maryland.
All are welcome. This discussion is free and open to the public.
7-9 pm, Thursday, January 19, 2017, at the Annapolis Friends Meeting House, 351 Dubois Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401
