    EARTH – Environmental Action Response Town Hall

    Announcing an exciting opportunity for Maryland, the Environmental Action Response Town Hall! EARTH will connect activists and concerned citizens with legislators, NGOs and environmental justice groups with the goal to educate, inform and ignite them on a range of issues, particularly but not exclusively, as these issues relate to the 2018 Legislative Session. This is an amazing opportunity to assess the pulse of the environmental sector for our state, interact with diverse speakers and panelists and get involved in the different facets of the environmental movement in Maryland all in one afternoon!
    Keynote Speakers:
    Senator Ben Cardin;
    Brian Frosh, Attorney General of Maryland;
    Seema Kakade, Environmental Law Clinic Director, UMD Carey Law School
    Special Guest:
    Ben Grumbles, Maryland Secretary of the
    Three Panels for Townhall-Style Q & A
    Legislative Panel including two republican and two democrat state representatives;
    Panel of existing environmental NGOs including:
    the Maryland League of Conservation Voters,
    the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and
    the Maryland Environmental Health Network;
    Trash Free Maryland;
    Grassroots environmental justice panel:
    Food & Climate Justice
    “We Are Cove Point”
    Moderators for the panels include: Wayne Gilchrist, Education Director for the Eastern Shore Conservatory and former Republican congressman; Will Rowel, member of the Caucus of African-American Leaders; Ann Swanson, Executive Director of the Chesapeake Bay Commission.
    Participants will leave with concrete action plans and follow-ups to the EARTH event to support their advocacy efforts when they return to their communities.
