Aldo Leopold Education Project Facilitator Training
The Leopold Education Project (LEP) is an innovative, interdisciplinary conservation and environmental education curriculum based on the essays in A Sand County Almanac. For twenty years LEP has provided schools, nature centers, and conservation organizations with this excellent hands-on and reflective curriculum for working directly with students. Join co-hosts Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation and Fox Haven Farm and Learning Center for a first-ever facilitators training so that you can train the educators in your region, agency, or school system to deliver the LEP program!
Facilitator Trainers participate in a twenty-hour course that helps educators in formal and non-formal settings adapt lessons to suit not only particular student groups and venues, but also various teaching and learning philosophies that match closely with your agency or school system’s requirements and mission. Trainers receive practice in using the curriculum with adult educators. Sessions for record keeping, administration, materials ordering, and marketing the program are included. The sixteen-hour training event takes place over two days to include an evening session. Participants have the opportunity to stay on-site. Meals are included.
